Real Talk: Today's Outfit & Hot Chicks

I hate it when people tell me to watch what I eat. I never hear, "Watch what you eat, you want to live a long healthy life".  It's always, "Watch what you eat, your a very pretty girl and you don't want to get fat". I'm not "fat", but you can tell I like to eat. Call me Thicky Ricardo. The more and more I hear people talking about how important it is to "look good", the more obsessed I get about my weight, and needing to stay "beautiful". It's not that I don't care about how I look; I do. But to put things in perspective, I'm Dominican. Yea, yea, I know I'm white. Not all Dominicans are black you guys, lol. And being Dominican, I have a pretty gigantic bottom, and real round hips...

Me and my bodacious bottom :)

It's not that I'm planning on letting myself go. It makes me feel good to be in shape. But the more I think about what motivates me to maintain my weight, my health gets bumped down further and further on my priority list, and I find myself caring mainly about my superficial appearance. I've been planning to head back to the gym to trim up, but I've been feeling so guilty about focusing solely on my looks. I decided to bust out something sexy today and enjoy my figure as it is. I still plan on returning to the gym, but for the sake of maintaining a healthy lifestyle, not only maintaining my weight. I decided to show some love for stunning women who are not by the strictest definition "in shape". Here is today's outfit and real talk about "hot chicks"...

First, I gotta show some love for my full figured ladies...

Queen Latifah is the epitope of poise and grace. Name one time you have ever seen her in the tabloids acting a fool in public, or getting out of a limo without underwear (cough, cough, Britney!). Never. She stays true to her soulful attitude while completely being a lady. She is confident, and hysterically funny. I don't think anyone in their right might could use any word other than stunning to describe Miss Latifah.

Scarlett Johansson wears a size 8, not a size 2. She is a full figured chick with big knockers and chubby thighs, and she is ravishing. You will never find her wearing something slutty, and you won't find updates on her drug habits in the magazines. She is always of maintained composure. She may be thick, but she is elegant and totally hot.

Ah, JLo :) You may not know but JLo came up from nothing. She started her career as one of the fly girls on In Living Color, and is now the highest paid Latin woman in show business! This lady is badass, with booty for days. She is curvy as hell, and a total knock out. She may wear tiny shorts with open dresses, and show some skin in her videos, but she is always proud to be herself and flaunt her sexy curves.

This is not some hater rant to put down thinner women. You don't have to be thin to be beautiful, but you don't have to have curves either. Here are some skinny bitches who are smoking hot too...

Megan Fox may be super skinny, but can anyone deny that she is sexy as hell?! Megan is very provocative, but somehow she manages to be totally tasteful about it. She is well spoken when interviewed and personally, I think she's kind of funny.

I think Angelina Jolie is an alien. No, seriously. How can anyones face be so perfect? More importantly, she is the U.S. Ambassador for Unicef. She dedicates so much of her time and money to children in need, not to mention the small country she is forming with all the kids she has already adopted. She may not be a curvy woman, but she is beautiful inside and out.

This song goes out to all my fat bottom gals ;)

Style Buzz: Bad-ass Blue Jeans

Denim is totally awesome. Thanks must be given to the hippies who, in the late 60's/ early 70's, adopted the then "po' boy" working man's attire, and gave way to one of the most iconic materials and staples in popular culture; blue jeans. From 70's bell bottoms, to 80's bleach stains, all the way through to today's skinny jeans, blue jeans have represented shifts in cultural attitudes, and displayed the evolution of both attire, and fashion. Just about anything you can fathom looks amazing in denim. Here are some of my favorite bad-ass blue jeans from 2011...

Style Buzz: Banana Flavored Prada

This years prints have been bananas... literally. Prada introduced their S/S 2011, and a set of banana print items. Naturally, I went ape shit when I saw their fruity new collections:

Here are a few more banana ideas...

Why couldn't I find these when I was looking for nail art?!? DOPE! They remind me of Shell Silverstein bananas :)

That needle point, rhinestone pin is killer! I was feeling rather tropical myself today, so I pulled out my lemon mini-cardigan-

Style Buzz: Crazy Nalis

I've been obsessed with doing my nails since I was old enough to pronounce the colors on the bottom of the bottles. My admiration took a turn to crazy town when I moved to California; Asians get down with nails like it ain't nobody's business. This is where my affection for wacky nail art has taken me...

Fast food nails?!? there are even little 3d burgers on them!

Hot pink leopard french manicure... pretty much anything with hot pink leopard print is awesome.

dollar bill nails?? beyond awesome.

half moon manicures are already fabulous... add a vamp claw twist and call it New Moon.

If you want a fun DIY nail makeover, peep the O.P.I. crackle, and layer it over any color you want... I picked:

Top: O.P.I.- Black Shatter

Bag n' Swag: Horseshoe Bags & Platform Pumps

Bag addictions run in my family. Since I was tiny, I remember purses and shoes being my mother's most coveted shopping items. As we grew up, my older sister developed her own, yet intense, passion for style. Naturally, the power of this addiction was genetic; which is why I am a bag and shoe addict. I am the queen of frugality these days. A double degree with burn a third degree hole right through your college budget. Still, my addiction drives me to unspeakable lengths when I'm in the need for a fix. There are certain things I always need. Namely, a great bag filled with goodies, and 6" heels.

Tonight's Bag & Swag:

Amazing vintage bag
with horseshoe clasp
& woven brass handle

Talk about baller on a budget- $5.00!!

 Polaroid i1035
-10.0 megapixel
-5.7-17.1mm
-manual f-stop, shutter speed,
white balance, & ISO

This is a MUST for me. I never leave the house without some type of camera. For a reasonably priced pocket camera, this one is awesome.

Cover Girl makes some decent stuff. The majority of their liners are chalky, but this one has a really nice tint if you have rosy lips like mine. It is really subtle under a nude or sheer gloss.

$6.99 @ Ulta

Le piece de resistance! This Lip gloss
is a little more pricey...

NARS: Belize
$24.00 @ Sephora

but I swear by it!
It has the most natural blushing
tint. It accentuates your lips
beautifully. This baby is worth every penny.

I LOVE Mac eyeshadows. I usually get my Mac info from Kabuki Kosmetics, and her make-up reviews on A Girl's Best Friend. I'm dying for her to do a crushed lip/ stains article! Crushed lips are my summer fancy.

Sumptuous Olive- $14.50
(their prices change yearly I think,
don't quote me on this.)

Speaking of stains, this cheek and lip tint is another higher priced commodity. It lasts forever, and it looks like you are blushing rather than wearing rouge.

Benetint Lip/ Cheek Stain
$28.00 @ Sephora

These heels are great. They make me almost as tall as Shaq, but they are super comfy.

You cannot go wrong with a pair of cropped trousers and black stiletto pumps. Cannot. German Shepards make awesome fashion accessories to these outfits :)

Kicks- suede; Steve Madden

Until next time,
